KELOWNA, B.C. — Jason Henderson is the new CEO of the Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) in B.C.

Henderson is no stranger to the association after serving on the SICA board for the last six years, including three years as a director on the BC Construction Association board.

Henderson began his career in construction as an apprentice electrician, working his way up to management.

In its announcement, the association’s board noted that Henderson’s 22 years of experience in the construction industry will be a considerable asset to SICA.

The association noted his leadership style focuses on collaboration and innovation and that Henderson is eager to move SICA ahead with the help of stakeholders as the industry grows and changes.

The board stated it is excited to have the new CEO travelling the region and engaging with current and potential members.

"The SICA Hiring Committee was tasked with finding the candidate best suited to take SICA into its next phase. After an extensive search with many qualified candidates we are pleased to have Jason accept our top position of CEO," said SICA’s past chair Debra Dotschkat in the announcement. "We have complete confidence in Jason and know he has the industry knowledge and passion for this role. We look forward to SICA’s bright future."

The association has offices in Kelowna and Kamloops. It also boasts a Construction Training Centre in Kelowna.
