The Manitoba government is investing $45 million on upgrades to the Interlake Highway from Winnipeg to Winnipeg Beach on PTH 9.

The work is part of a five-year plan that will see all of the new revenue from the one-cent-on-the-dollar increase in the PST put toward building Manitoba’s core infrastructure including roads and bridges, flood protection and municipal infrastructure.

“This busy Interlake Highway is important to local families and businesses, tourists and commercial travelers,” said Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation Steve Ashton.

“We know the best way to encourage growth in our rural economies is to invest in roads and bridges. We made significant upgrades over the last five years and these new upgrades are part of our continuing commitment to improving infrastructure in Manitoba.
