SASKATOON, SASK. – Saskatoon is upgrading its transit system with help from the federal government. The city will receive $1.5 million from the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund.
The money will go towards upgrading transit shelters and bus stops along with sidewalks near transit.
Sidewalks are being upgraded or installed at 20 locations around the city. An additional 247 sidewalk ramps, which connect sidewalks to roadways, are being installed at 124 locations.
The total investment in these improvements is $3.03 million.
