FortisBC selects Bechtel for Tilbury LNG Facility Expansion Project

FortisBC has selected Bechtel Canada Co. as the contractor for the $400 million Tilbury Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility Expansion Project, located in Delta, B.C.

The expansion will add roughly 1.1 million gigajoules of LNG storage as well around 34,000 gigajoules of liquefaction capacity per day.

Project construction is expected to employ 150 skilled workers over two years, and is scheduled to begin in September, 2014 with completion in 2016.

FortisBC also operates the the Mt. Hayes LNG facility near Ladysmith, B.C.
