VANCOUVER – WoodWORKS! BC has announced it will extend its deadline for nominations for the 2018 Wood Design Awards in B.C. to Dec. 15.
A new prefabricated structural wood award has also been announced. The category recognizes innovative design and use of prefabricated wood systems, components and modules.
According to a release from WoodWORKS! BC, “the project design must illustrate the uniqueness and versatility of using wood component systems that have been fabricated in a manufacturing facility and incorporate pre-installed, embedded or surface connections.”
Entrants must also describe the systems used and the benefits of incorporating those systems.
Nominations are accepted in up to two categories and self-nominations are allowed. There is no fee to nominate a project. Projects must have been completed within the past three years and cannot be resubmitted to win a second time in the same category.
The 2018 Wood Design Awards ceremony will take place on Feb. 26, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre – West.
