Buildings Canada to host federal budget webinar

Buildings Canada has announced a webinar set for May 4 to discuss the impact of the federal budget delivered April 19. Speakers will include Melissa Aveiro and Am Lidder of MNP LLP. The event is billed as What to Expect from the 2021 Federal Budget, with guidance on the implications of new rules, compliance and enforcement on businesses.

Aecon reports higher revenues

Aecon Group Inc. has reported results for the first quarter of 2021 with year-over-year increases in revenue and Adjusted EBITDA, and a backlog of $5.9 billion as at March 31, 2021. Revenue for the three months ended March 31 of $754 million was $7 million, or one per cent higher compared to the same period in 2020.  Adjusted EBITDA of $20.8 million for the first quarter improved by $1.6 million compared to Adjusted EBITDA of $19.2 million in the first quarter of 2020.

Red River College implements solar technology

Red River College has begun installation of approximately 400 Kromatix Building Integrated Photovoltaics units along the exterior façade of the currently under construction Innovation Centre located in Winnipeg’s Exchange District. Kromatix is an opaque glass colour-treated without the use of paint or tint layered over the solar, thermal and electrical components of each panel. Diamond Schmitt Architects and Number TEN Architectural Group sourced the product from Denmark.
