Registration is still open for the XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, set for Sept. 20 to 23. The online event is co-hosted by the Institute for Work & Health.
Leaders on the trail
The three main national party leaders have announced their public appearances for today, three days before polling day. According to The Canadian Press, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole is in London, Ont. for an announcement at a winery and then St. Catharines, Ont. for an event with supporters. Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau visits Windsor for an announcement. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is in Sherbrooke, Que. for a presentation on climate change, Sackville, N.S. for a visit to a local business and Halifax for a meeting with supporters.
Zoomlion exports heaviest crane
China’s Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co. today announced it exported the ZCC32000 crawler crane to Turkey on Sept. 16, setting a new record for the largest tonnage crane exported from China. The 2,000-ton ZCC32000 is an all-conditions product with maximum load moment of 32,000 ton-metres and maximum boom height reaching 168 metres.
B.C. associations hold employment panel
The Vancouver Island Construction Association, BC Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association and the Industry Training Authority are holding an online panel discussion about industry job opportunities on Vancouver Island. The event takes place on Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. and those interested in attending can register here.
