Chopping wood-shop facility from middle school revamp limits children: VICA

The Greater Victoria School District is dropping the wood shop from the $46.5-million seismic replacement of Cedar Hill Middle School because of the estimated $500,000 cost to purchase and maintain an exhaust system. The Victoria Island Construction Association is concerned this is sending a negative message at a time when the industry is struggling to attract skilled workers.
