VICTORIA — Three British Columbia companies are moving ahead with the facilities management procurement process for a management contract for more than 1,800 provincially-owned, leased and managed facilities.
The three shortlisted firms are Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions, CB Richard Ellis Management Services and Jones Lang LaSalle. The current contract expires March 31, 2020 and includes repairs, maintenance, landscaping, janitorial and construction services. The value of the contract is approximately $50 million annually.
The successful proponent will follow the provincial government’s new procurement strategy and will maintain a pre-qualified list of contractors to provide services for the 1,800 locations with government facilities.
As per the new strategy, they will also be expected to adhere to wage policies and provide leadership regarding environmental responsibility.
The B.C. Ministry of Citizens’ Services is engaging with clients, staff and the market on improving service delivery and defining requirements for a future agreement. Negotiations including final contracting are expected to be complete by summer 2019.
