CanaData 2020: A conversation with Alex Carrick – Part One

TORONTO – CanaData 2020 is happening over three days from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 and we have an interview between Daily Commercial News staff writer Angela Gismondi and ConstructConnect’s chief economist Alex Carrick, who will speak and moderate the first-ever virtual version of the long-running economic conference.

In this video, Alex discusses the theme of The Perfect Storm, which refers to both the overall health of the global and national economy and the unprecedented effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alex also points out how technology has helped to address concerns such as working from home and maintaining both trade and communication in a time of self-isolation.

The discussion also turns to the challenges and opportunities of moving to a virtual conference format and examines the topics covered at CanaData including demographics, new technological innovations and economic analysis.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of this interview series, where Alex and Angela discuss the speakers appearing at CanaData as well as who will benefit from attending the sessions and how to register for the conference.
