Fort Edmonton reopens with help from Clark Builders

Edmonton’s historic Fort Edmonton Park will reopen this summer after completion of a revitalization project by Clark Builders along with Frontier, consultants, trade partners and Fort Edmonton Park. The $165 million project enhancements include a new Indigenous Peoples Experience, a new front entry plaza and admissions area and the expansion of the 1920s-style midway including a new Ferris wheel, games, maze and the Cabinet of Curios exhibit. The park is scheduled to reopen July 1.

ULI Toronto presents tour of Hudson Yards

ULI Toronto will be hosting a virtual tour of the 18-million-square-foot Hudson Yards development in New York City, billed as the largest private real estate development in U.S. history. The site was designed through a collaboration that included Diller Scofidio + Renfro; Elkus Manfredi Architects; Foster + Partners; Heatherwick Studio; Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates; Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects; Rockwell Group; and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The tour is May 4 at 12 p.m. EDT.

Texas Central Railroad signs $1.6B contract with Kiewit for core electrical systems

Texas Central Railroad has entered a $1.6B contract with Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. and affiliate Mass. Electric Construction Co. to install core electrical systems needed for a high-speed train line from Dallas to Houston. The contract includes installation of core electrical systems such as traction power, signalling and communications equipment to enable the trains to operate safely and ensure the tracks and operators communicate with one another and with network operations.
