OTTAWA — The Government of Canada is now accepting applications for new construction and infrastructure projects through the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund.
The fund has been created to support new construction of public infrastructure or the modification/reinforcement of existing public infrastructure that helps communities withstand natural disasters and climate-related risks, states a news release.
Projects must have a minimum total cost of $1 million to be eligible and be from municipal, local, provincial or territory governments, public sector bodies, Indigenous organizations, not-for-profits or for-profit organizations in partnership with eligible applicants outside the private sector.
There is more than $1 billion available in the fund for eligible projects.
