EDMONTON — The City of Edmonton is revising its estimated time of completion for work on the Stadium LRT station due to unanticipated site conditions.
Additional work is required and the timeline will be extended after water was observed leaking along the Stadium station’s lower concourse walls and roof and cracking was seen in the concrete, a City of Edmonton statement said.
The contactor will need to replace the waterproof membrane and repair concrete on the concourse roof before proceeding with track replacement and installation of two pedestrian crossings.
Trains between Churchill and Clareview and Churchill and NAIT will continue to run every 20 minutes until late August and every 10 minutes between Churchill and Century Park.
From early September to late October trains between Churchill and Clareview and Churchill and NAIT will run every 15 minutes and Churchill and Century Park trains will run every 7.5 minutes.
The construction is part of the City of Edmonton’s TLC for LRT program of station renewal. Future projects and schedules will be added to edmonton.ca/tlcforlrt.
Metro Line trains will continue to run between Century Park and NAIT all day for the project duration.
