Rogers proposes new western Canadian technology and engineering centre

As part of a massive $26 billion bid for Rogers to merge with Shaw, Rogers is proposing not only to invest $2.5 billion in 5G networks in Western Canada but also create a new National Centre of Technology and Engineering Excellence located in Calgary, Alta. Rogers will also establish a $1 billion Rogers Rural and Indigenous Connectivity Fund to connect remote communities across Western Canada to high-speed internet service.

BC Building Trades survey says British Columbians support compulsory trades training

A new survey commissioned by the BC Building Trades states 80 to 90 per cent of British Columbians support restoring compulsory trades in the province. The online survey conducted March 8 and 9 polled 800 adults in B.C. Results are considered correct plus or minus 3.5 percentage points 19 times out of 20. Richardson Pioneer announces new Manitoba grain elevator

Richardson Pioneer Limited has announced it plans to build a new high throughput grain elevator in Swan River, Man., effectively replacing an existing wood crib workhouse. The project will include a high throughput elevator with 36,600 metric tonnes of storage capacity, capable of loading 150 cars through a loop track design. The redevelopment program will begin in spring 2021 and is slated for completion by August 2022.
