Federal government invests $10 million for new energy advisers
The federal government has launched a call for proposals to create jobs through the federal government’s $2.6 billion green retrofit program. It’s a $10 million commitment to “recruit, train, and mentor up to 2,000 new energy advisers across the country to support the Canada Greener Homes Grant, which will provide as many as 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 each to help homeowners make energy-efficient improvements to their homes, supported by an EnerGuide evaluation,” states a release. The new energy advisers will help meet demand for and provide access to EnerGuide evaluations for all Canadians, regardless of location. Proposals must be received by July 8.
Infrastructure BC releases 2021 Major Projects Brochure
Infrastructure BC is announcing the release of the latest edition of the BC Major Infrastructure Projects Brochure. The brochure is intended for infrastructure market participants, industry, contractors, and subcontractors and focuses on prospective projects greater than $50 million from the early planning stage through to pre-procurement, and active procurement. City of Leduc partners to build affordable housing
The City of Leduc is partnering with Habitat for Humanity, Qualico and Pacesetter Homes to build two duplex homes available for eligible families in need of affordable homes. The city has donated four lots to Habitat for Humanity and construction began this month and is expected to be complete by October 2021.
