Engineers Canada 30 by 30 conference kicks off
Today Engineers Canada is kicking off this year’s 30 by 30 virtual conference, which consists of a gathering for 30 by 30 Champions, engineering leaders and engineers, with a discussion of the current state of gender equity in the profession and what has been working to increase the number of women in engineering. Manitoba puts $10 million toward PTH 75 reconstruction
The Province of Manitoba is investing $10 million in the reconstruction of the southbound lanes of PTH 75 in the town of Morris. The province is reconstructing and realigning the southbound lanes of PTH 75 from Rodeo Drive in the town of Morris to 3.1 kilometres south and the project also includes the replacement of the southbound CN rail cross surface. Additional work will take place on southbound PTH 75 from Ste. Agathe to the U.S. border beginning this summer.
Federal government, Alberta invest in infrastructure for seniors
The governments of Canada and Alberta are investing in over 360 projects to upgrade housing for seniors and families in 95 communities. The Government of Canada is investing nearly $25.6 million through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program and the Alberta government is providing nearly $6.4 million for a total of $31.9 million.
