BC Hydro awards Site C balance of plant mechanical contract
BC Hydro has awarded a $70 million Site C balance of plant contract for mechanical work to Mitchell Installations Ltd. The Burnaby-based company will be responsible for all mechanical work required to complete the construction of the generating station and spillways, along with other related facilities at Site C in northeastern B.C.
Whitehorse transportation infrastructure best a federal boost
The government of Canada is investing $135 million in strategic upgrades for the Klondike Highway between Whitehorse and Dawson City in the Yukon. The upgrades include reconstructing 110 km of the Highway between Carmacks and Stewart Crossing and adding technologies for the smart use of transportation networks, including an Intelligent Transportation System.
YVR receives federal infrastructure funding
The Government of Canada is providing the Vancouver International Airport up to $38.4 million from Transport Canada’s Airport Critical Infrastructure Program for critical infrastructure projects. Improvements will be made to the dyke and drainage system surrounding the airport and extension of the Runway End Safety Area to provide extra space for an aircraft to stop safely in an emergency.
