SURREY, B.C. — B.C. is looking to find a company to work with for the last contract of the Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension.
The province is officially asking companies to submit their qualifications for consideration.
The massive infrastructure project will see construction of a 16 kilometre extension of the SkyTrain from King George Station to Langley City Centre, states a release.
The project marks the first rapid transit expansion south of the Fraser River in 30 years.
The RFQ is for a contract pertaining to the design and installation of the SkyTrain trackwork and the design, installation and integration of electrical systems.
Major construction is expected to begin in 2024. The extension should be operational by 2028, states the release.
