ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — The Sumas dike in Abbotsford is receiving $1.6 million for repairs.
Construction is expected to be finished at the end of November.
Emergency Management BC is providing the funds for the repairs through the Disaster Financial Assistance program, states a news release.
More than $40 million has been allocated to address the effects of flooding around Abbotsford last year.
Further work will include sediment removal and repairs and restorations at sites like Clayburn Creek, Kilgard Creek and Vedder Canal, according to the release.
