MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — EllisDon’s ALLiED support group has published a video on YouTube that documents its numerous activities to support inclusivity during June, Pride Month.
EllisDon was the first construction firm in Canada to fly Pride flags at its trailers and ALLiED (All Inclusive EllisDon), launched recently, took Pride engagement a further step, explained communications co-ordinator Rory Smith.
“We know a lot of companies go all-in for Pride Month, but we aren’t retail, we aren’t in it to win customers here. While the construction industry is stereotypically the least progressive, we have witnessed some uplifting moments,” said Smith.
Efforts included promoting educational films and books and collaborating with Pride at Work Canada.
“Our employees have all the tools to create an inclusive environment all year round, making EllisDon an even better place to work,” stated an EllisDon Facebook post.
“As #PrideMonth comes to a close, we want to thank all of our employees across EllisDon for participating in this year’s Pride Month activities led by EllisDon’s ALLiED team.”
ALLiED also participated in awareness efforts on National Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21.
