Man who died after welding shop blast south of Edmonton identified

NISKU, Alta. – A man who was killed last week after an explosion and fire at a welding business just south of Edmonton has been identified.

A former co-worker says 40-year-old Devron Chase died on Dec. 27.

Chase was working at Ja-Co Welding and Consulting in Nisku when the explosion happened.

An obituary says Chase is survived by his wife and three young daughters.

Two other men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
