National Model Building Codes of Canada

CSA Group is now a distributor of the national model codes, user guides, and commentaries published by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).

The National Building Code (NBC), the National Fire Code (NFC), the National Plumbing Code (NPC), and the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) reference numerous CSA Group standards. Code users can now access these essential documents and the CSA standards referenced within them from the CSA Store.

FREE National Energy Code for Buildings Training

Online training for the NECB 2017 is now available for no-fee in English and French on the CSA Store. Furthering knowledge and adoption of the NECB 2017 contributes to the improved energy efficiency of new buildings and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

NECB 2017 – Contractors | online, 4 hours

Tailored specifically for contractors and installers, this four-hour course helps to simplify selected requirements of the NECB 2017 in Division B, Parts 3-8.  It details systems, components and equipment covered by Parts 3-8 for energy performance efficiency. In addition, it clarifies the prescriptive path, trade-off path, and performance path requirements as requisite or permitted within NECB requirements.

NECB 2017 – Designers | online, 4 hours

This online course has been created for designers, modelers, engineers, and architects. Focused on specific requirements of the NECB 2017 in Division B, Parts 3-8, it details systems, components and equipment covered by Parts 3-8 for energy performance efficiency. In addition, it provides recommendations and top tips from design experts in the building energy efficiency sectors.

This 20-minute eLearning course outlines how the 2017 NECB is structured and provides an overview of the flow of the document.

NECB 2015/2017 Compliance Checklist for Designers – Full Checklist | video, 12 minutes

For building designers completing the NECB compliance checklist for submission to their Authority Having Jurisdiction. The full version of the NECB compliance checklist can be used for projects using the prescriptive, trade-off or performance compliance paths.

Construction and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities Training

Did you know many hospitals in Canada require CSA Infection Control during Construction training in order to be eligible to work on hospital construction and renovation projects? If you work on the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) within a hospital, fast track your understanding of the standards you need with CSA training.

This training is approved for Continuing Education Credits from the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) as part of the Gold Seal Certification Program.
