Alberta government announces two new Edmonton schools

EDMONTON – The Alberta government recently announced an Edmonton Catholic Schools kindergarten to Grade 6 elementary facility will be built in the Orchards at Ellerslie neighbourood, with another high school completion centre located in the Lewis Farms neighbourhood in the design stage.

By creating 600 new student spaces, a government news release said, the new elementary school will address significant enrolment pressures in south Edmonton. The high school completion centre will concentrate on students in their fourth or fifth year of high school and will create 350 student spaces in west Edmonton.

Approval of design of the new high school is aligned with planning for the new City of Edmonton Lewis Farms recreation centre and park, which will be built at the same location.
