ATCO Salt Cavern Storage expansion project gets initial approval
The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada has accepted an initial project description for the proposed ATCO Salt Cavern Storage Expansion Project located about 14 kilometres north of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. The project would increase the facility’s storage capacity by about 400,000 m3 by adding four underground salt caverns for the storage of ethylene, propane, butane and condensate (natural gas liquids).
Saskatchewan announces support for energy projects
The Government of Saskatchewan has announced support for three new projects that will increase gas processing capacity while reducing methane emissions. Highrock Resources Ltd. is conditionally approved for an approximately $1.5 million investment in a new flare-gas-to-power project. Flare-gas capture specialists Steel Reef is conditionally approved for a project to expand gas processing facilities, and Ridgeback Resources is also conditionally approved to support construction of a new gas fractionation plant and supporting infrastructure near the community of Innes.
Aggreko aims for net zero energy
Glasgow, Scotland-based Aggreko PLC today announced its intention to become net zero by 2050 or sooner, aligning with the Paris climate agreement. Aggreko also committed to offering cleaner technologies and fuels to support its customers through their energy transition. The firm is a supplier of temporary power generation equipment and of temperature control equipment.
