Chandos Construction recently completed the installation of a 15-level rack, part of the 137-foot-high distribution centre for Conestoga Cold Storage.
The southeast Calgary facility is undergoing a renovation and adding extra storage space. It has a floor slab area of approximately 40,000 square feet.
The slab had to be poured before the structure and envelope work began in order to accommodate the rack system. Chandos’ team was onsite seven days a week for 13 weeks straight to get the rack installed successfully.
According to Alberta Major Projects, the expansion cost an estimated $5.6 million.
