Construction resumes on Manitoba’s PTH3 highway

Construction resumes on Manitoba’s PTH3 highway

WINNIPEG—Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) resumed construction of Provincial Trunk Highway 3 (PTH 3) between Brunkild and Carman on May 24. The project involves resurfacing PTH 3 and adding passing lanes.

PTH 3 currently operates as a detour route for PTH 75, which is closed due to flooding. Construction of PTH 3 requires areas of single-lane traffic with pilot vehicle control with delays for motorists for both regular PTH3 and detoured PTH 75 traffic.

MTI is monitoring floodwaters as they recede and a statement from the Province of Manitoba said “the department has prioritized reopening PTH 75 and will do so as soon as conditions allow.”
