First Notice: Nunavut land use plan; Unke joins COWI; top 100 Vancouver architects

 

Nunavut land use plan prepares for development

The Nunavut Planning Commission today released an updated 2021 Draft Land Use Plan. The plan sets out guidelines for the use and development of resources in the Nunavut Settlement Area including planning for the Manitoba-Kivalliq infrastructure corridor and grandfathering existing mineral rights. The plan is said to “provide certainty for landowners and users about where and when projects and economic activities can take place.”

Jesse Unke joins COWI

COWI North America has appointed Jesse Unke as their Canadian vice-president of operations. Unke was previously president of the British Columbia Construction Roundtable and was also recognized as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction by On-Site Magazine and SitePartners in 2020.
