The Construction Record is now on the air

Is the medium the message? Download our new national editorial podcast The Construction Record and find out.

After almost 200 years of covering construction in Canada through the Daily Commercial News (DCN) and the Journal of Commerce (JOC), our coverage is evolving into a new medium, a podcast.

Want to know more about the construction news impacting you? Curious to know the story behind the stories we deliver to you? Our goal is that The Construction Record will deliver those answers bi-weekly.

Why call our national podcast The Construction Record?

Though the podcast is an innovative digital tool for news sharing, we are giving a nod to our storied past of covering construction through the DCN and JOC. The DCN’s former full name was The Daily Commercial News and Construction Record and the JOC’s was the Journal of Commerce and Building Record. Calling our podcast The Construction Record was a logical choice given we are the newspapers of record in Canada when it comes to industry coverage and providing project data information.

Whether you are a construction executive, a hard working skilled worker on the tools or a student studying to enter the construction field, we hope our podcast is both informative and entertaining for you.

Collectively, our national news team has 100 years of reporting experience and we all share a passion for construction and providing you, our readers and subscribers, with the news you need in order to be successful and informed.

So, as you sit at an airport waiting for a flight to a meeting or conference, or are driving to your work site to put in another hard day, The Construction Record can be that news medium that tells you all you need to know.

The podcast will available via our websites, dcnonl.com and joconl.com, and it will also be available via iTunes and direct download. Give it a listen, let us know what you think and share the podcast because The Construction Record is now on air.
