Lochside Elementary School Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Upgrade

Tender Description

Renovation of an educational facility in Victoria, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Provide new, complete, operational and tested mechanical systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and controls systems, as described herein, and indicated on the drawings and in full conformance with applicable codes, standards and ordinances.

Provide all labour, materials and products as specified, as required to accomplish this work.

The scope of HVAC work for this project generally includes:

Air and water systems balancing
Air handling units
Direct digital controls
Gymnasium ceiling propeller fans
Heating water piping and pipe insulation
Hydronic heating pumps
Hydronic terminal heating elements (Reheat coils)
Pre-operational pipe cleaning and Chemical treatment
Supply, return and outdoor air ductwork and insulation
Verification of systems operation and controls

Demolition and builder’s work required to be performed by the Contractor:
Removal of redundant HVAC equipment, ductwork and piping.
Painting of new ductwork where exposed
Removal and replacement of ceilings to provide access for removal and installation of mechanical equipment
Other demolition, painting, remediation, etc., as described in the Specifications and on the drawings, to accommodate the Work

Electrical work to be performed by the Contractor:

Electrical power supply to mechanical equipment
Removal and replacement of miscellaneous electrical devices

Hazardous Materials Work:

As noted in Section 01050, Item 1.7, any required abatement work as well as the cost, will be carried out or contracted by the owner.

The mechanical contractor shall act as the Prime Contractor for this project, responsible for the coordination of all trades required to carry out the work as described in the tender documents.
