Tender Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Ucluelet, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Parks Canada Agency is seeking to replace the current suspension bridge and ladder system over the Logan Creek pass of the West Coast Trail with a full-span bridge which would connect the eastern and western ravine banks. The existing wooden plank bridge is elevated approximately 20 m above Logan Creek and is suspended by two wire cables spanning approximately 62 m across the channel. The new bridge will be approximately 115 m long and 1.0 m wide with a higher load capacity than the existing overpass to allow hiker cross-traffic. The new bridge will consist of concrete footings, rock anchors, cables, aluminium beams/joists, aluminium planks and steel support piers.
