Server Room Upgrade, Summerland Research and Development Centre

Tender Description

Renovation of a laboratory facility in Summerland, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
Work of this Contract comprises renovation of the cooling and ventilation system for the Server Room, located at the Summerland Research and Development Centre (SURDC) (formerly the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre) in Summerland, BC.

The project includes, but is not limited to:
1. Install Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) unit, pre-purchased by the client.
2. Anchoring of the new CRAC unit.
3. Provision of air diffusers for the new CRAC unit.
4. Provision of new air water piping between existing condenser water mains on Level 2 and new CRAC unit.
5. Provision of new RO water between existing RO water mains on Level 2 and new CRAC unit.
6. Installation of the condensate pump, with connection to drain and with a condensate cooling system.
7. Provision of insulation to the condenser water piping, and the condensate piping.
8. Flushing, cleaning and chemical treatment of the new systems.
9. Electrical work upgrade to accommodate the CRAC unit.
10. Provision and integration of controls with the building DDC system.
11. Charge the new CRAC unit with refrigerant.
12. Assistance with the Startup of the CRAC unit by the manufacturers representative.
13. Architectural work upgrade to supplement mechanical system upgrade and restore finishes affected by the work.
14. Phased construction, to accommodate limited interruption to the services of the building.
15. Supply and installation of a complete, fully functional, tested, and commissioned CRAC unit, with ancillaries.
16. Project coordination and documentation.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $100,000 and $110,000.
