Public Services and Procurement Canada says it has cost about $3 billion to prepare for the closure of Centre Block, which is slated for this year at Parliament Hill. Contracts worth about $770 million have already been awarded for the work. The duration of the renovation has been estimated to take anywhere from 10 to 13 years.
