The Construction Record podcast – Episode 29

On this episode of the Construction Record podcast, national editor Vince Versace and daily editor Lindsey Cole take a look at a number of issues affecting the industry, including changes to the Construction Lien Act and how that affects not only the industry but also the legal firms working with construction firms. Vince and Lindsey talk about takeaways from Partners in Prevention, an annual safety conference held in Mississauga.

Staff writer Angela Gismondi interviewed Warren Clements, an occupational hygiene specialist from Workplace Safety and Prevention Services about a new app that measures noise levels on the worksite, and digital media editor Warren Frey has an interview with Eugene Ng, MNP’s cyber security leader for eastern Canada. Ng spoke to the Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s Construction Leadership Forum held recently in Whistler, B.C. about the many risks facing the industry from malicious actors looking to compromise their data.

Vince and Lindsey also spoke briefly to the legacy of Korky Koroluk, a former editor of the Daily Commercial News and its long-time columnist and industry expert who sadly passed away recently. We plan to release a podcast in the near future that takes an extensive look at Korky’s career and achievements both in the industry and beyond.
