This week on TCR Express digital media editor Warren Frey and Journal of Commerce staff writer Russell Hixson take a look at what’s coming in the new year. Russell’s got his eye on developments with prompt payment in B.C. as well as how COVID-19 will affect the construction industry and society in general in 2022. Warren goes into detail on a story he recently wrote about the Warehouse Park project in Edmonton, which will take an empty part of the downtown core and turn it into a park that ties together a new residential community.

From the east Daily Commercial News staff writer Don Wall is reporting about the Ontario Skilled Trades Alliance advocating for changes in the immigration to allow for more skilled trades workers to address labour shortages and staff writer Angela Gismondi is writing a story about a group of women from First Nations communities in northern Ontario who recently graduated from the Line Crew Ground Support (LCGS) program with 25 transferable certificates to pursue apprenticeship opportunities and careers working on the Wataynikaneyap (Watay) Power Transmission Line.
