This week on the Construction Record podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with British Columbia ministry of transportation and infrastructure chief engineer of highway services Ian Pilkington.
Pilkington discussed the province’s rapid response to the November flooding and subsequent infrastructure damage and highlighted the coordination and cooperation of the industry in making sure highways and bridges were repaired and functional as quickly as possible.
He also covered the government’s ongoing initiatives to mitigate climate change and ensure the province’s infrastructure is able to demonstrate the resiliency needed to withstand future intense climate events.
