Daily Commercial News Image Daily Commercial News

On this episode of The Construction Record Podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey and Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce editor Lindsey Cole do an editorial check-in for what has turned into a very busy January 2023 in terms of occupational health and safety stories.

Lindsey touched on several recent stories including watermain breakage in north and south Mississauga, a floor collapse in London and several legal charges handed down in both Ontario and Western Canada including 28 charges for Suncor and Christina River Construction related to the death of Patrick Poitras in 2021.

Other news includes continued controversy as Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government faces strong opposition to their plans to develop land in the Ontario Greenbelt region and a sneak preview of a story staff writer Don Wall is working on related to training and health and safety challenges for new immigrants entering the Canadian construction workforce.

You can listen to The Construction Record on the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce websites as well as on Apple PodcastsSpotify and Amazon Music’s podcast section. Our previous episode highlighting the recent Bentall memorial ceremonies is here. Thanks for listening.
