AJAX, ONT. – At 1.2 million square feet the Lakeridge Logistics Centre is Canada’s largest speculative industrial property and is also Ontario’s first fully net-zero carbon designed industrial facility.

Available for lease by global commercial real estate adviser Avison Young, the property is located at 537 Kingston R. E.

It was designed by Pure Industrial to serve the needs of customers critical to the Canadian supply chain.

The building construction places an emphasis on renewable energy generation, electrified heat sources and overall improved energy efficiency, explains a release. The design could yield a potential savings of as much as 19 per cent in cumulative costs over 10 years.

Sustainable highlights include:

  • A high-performance envelope and ultra-efficient mechanical systems.
  • Solar power generated onsite.
  • Future-proofed infrastructure allows for the building to have 100 per cent of its anticipated electricity needs met with solar.
  • Indoor air quality and filtration.

Options for alternative transportation, such as public transit, bicycles, and electric vehicles.
