Vancouver company to build Nicaragua mining roads

VANCOUVER- Vancouver-based Golden Reign Resources Ltd. has begun work on access roads for a mining project located in Nicaragua.

The roads, covering approximately 1.2 kilometres, will be seven metres wide and will also provide greater access to the San Albino Mine located in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua.

“The construction of new public roads will provide ease of access around, and to the future San Albino mine site as well as provide improved public safety and other positive socioeconomic benefits for the area,” said Golden Reign CEO Kevin Bullock in a statement.

“These new roads are not only supply lines to communities and residences, the route to the nearest hospital and a school bus route for children but also an infrastructure platform for rural economic diversification and growth, supporting the full range of different businesses and, overall, improving the quality of life of local residents.”

Golden Reign has completed engineering studies and has acquired municipal permits for the roadwork which will also allow for expansion and modification of the existing road leading to the San Pablo community.

A second road is also planned to provide access to a new pedestrian bridge leading to a public school that is currently accessed through the San Albino mine site.

The new roads will allow access for transport trucks carrying large material loads and heavy machinery, and will be out sloped and ditched to promote drainage. Intersecting water bars and lead offs will be installed to reduce erosion potential.
Golden Reign has indicated it will exclusively use local contractors and workers to undertake construction, which is expected to be complete by the end of July 2018.
