Tender Description

Renovation of an educational facility in Surrey, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 158,000-square-foot, five-story above grade educational facility.

The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to invite qualified and experienced furniture vendors for the Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering (SE3P) Building Project for Simon Fraser University. Services will be contracted between SFU and the successful Proponent under the SFU Standard Servicing Agreement.

Project Description and Background

Located at 10285 University Drive, Surrey BC, the SE3P building is under construction and scheduled to complete in February 2019. The new facility will offer innovative and specialized programs to help to develop a skilled workforce to meet the current and forecasted needs of labour and industry and allow SFU to continue in its mission to be a leading-edge university.

The new five-storey building contains approximately 158,000SF of classrooms, wet and dry teaching and research labs, administrative offices for faculty members and graduate students, a 400-seat theatre, collaborative and study spaces, student services areas and a loading dock. Refer to the Appendix A-Floor Plans.

This new academic building will support up to 515 full time equivalent students and approximately 60 Faculty and Administration staff. This facility is targeting LEED NC 2009 Gold Certification.
