VANCOUVER – The City of Vancouver has appointed Jessie Adcock as general manager, development, buildings and licensing. She is currently the chief technology officer for the city.
Adcock joined the City of Vancouver in 2013 as its first Chief Digital Officer before moving to the expanded role of Chief Technology Officer in 2016. In her new role she will head the department responsible for community development, safety and quality of buildings and leveraging the use of permits, licences and enforcement to advance Vancouver city council priorities.
“I am passionate about the opportunity for transformation in Canada’s public sector organizations and am very proud of how much the City of Vancouver has done to date to improve service delivery via the digital strategy as well as countless other initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency,” Adcock said.
“Development, Buildings and Licensing is an organization with tremendous transformation potential from a technology and service delivery perspective. Having worked through and led transformation initiatives and managed complex operations in multiple sectors, I look forward to this opportunity to further improve how we deliver services and value to our community,” she added.
“Jessie has had many accomplishments in her current role as CTO, and I believe her clear communication style and leadership ability, as well as her expertise in service management and technology implementation, will serve the City and her new division well. We conducted a thorough search to fill this role and are always happy to promote from within when it’s the right fit,” Vancouver City Manager Sadhu Johnston said.
Adcock assumes her new duties on Dec. 2, replacing Kaye Krishna, who is now deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for the province of British Columbia.
