Homes for Heroes Foundation calls for honour plaques
The Homes For Heroes Foundation, which builds tiny home villages for Canadian Armed Forces veterans, is calling for nominations for honour plaques to be installed at the Edmonton ATCO Evandale Village. The project is planned for construction this spring. Each of the tiny homes will be named after and in honour of a fallen Canadian soldier. Submissions can be made at www.hrf.ca.
Calgary’s Green Line announces inaugural board
The City of Calgary has introduced board members for the Green Line as the large-scale rail infrastructure project moves into 2021. Don Fairbairn will be the board chair and David Duckworth will be city manager. The other board members are Janet Annesley, Larry Beasley, Ian Bourne, Fred Cummings, Bharat Mahajan, Patricia McLeod and Marcia Nelson.
Saab proposes new Vancouver sensor centre
Saab has proposed a new facility in Vancouver as part of its offer for Canada’s Future Fighter Capability Project (FFCP). The centre would focus on technologies such as radar and would look for local engineering talent from the Vancouver and surrounding area. Saab, in co-operation with the Swedish government, has offered 88 Gripen E fighter aircraft, for Canada’s FFCP.
