Indigenous housing plan for Whitehorse

Canada’s Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Ahmed Hussen will be making an announcement on Indigenous housing in Whitehorse, Yukon today.

New school to be named after Edmonton icon Joey Moss

A K-9 Edmonton public school built by Delnor Construction will be named after Edmonton sports icon Joey Moss. He died last year of cancer after decades of work with the Edmonton Oilers. The Joey Moss School will be built in the Keswick neighbourhood, opening in fall 2022 with The Workun Garrick Partnership as the architect.

TransPod releases Alberta feasibility study results

TransPod with the support of the Government of Alberta has released a feasibility study for a proposed hyperloop line between Edmonton and Calgary. The study states the project will “create up to 140,000 jobs over nine years, grow the region’s GDP by 6.25 per cent over nine years, and reduce Alberta’s carbon emissions by 636,000 tonnes per year — all at no cost to the taxpayer.” The study can be viewed here.
