Vancouver expands EV charging
Vancouver City Council has approved requirements to expand access to electric vehicle (EV) charging in non-residential buildings. The new regulations require EV charging infrastructure in 45 per cent of parking stalls in most types of new non-residential buildings, 100 per cent of new car-share stalls, and all stalls in new hotels. The regulations take effect on June 1, 2022.
Rockwool opens West Virginia factory
Rockwool North America today announced it has begun commercial production of stone wool insulation products at its newest U.S. manufacturing facility, located in Jefferson County, West Virginia. The 460,000-square-foot factory produces Rockwool’s residential, commercial and industrial stone wool insulation and marks North America’s first post-pandemic increase in stone wool insulation manufacturing capacity.
Saskatchewan completes first pipeline under OIIP
The government of Saskatchewan announced the completion of Husky Midstream’s Saskatchewan Gathering System Expansion project, the first under the provincial Oil Infrastructure Investment Program (OIIP). The $82 million investment will accommodate new shipping capacity of up to 48,000 barrels per day of crude oil production, with 62 kilometers of new pipeline and 12 kilometers of replacement pipe.
