Scheduled for completion in the fall of 2012, the project includes 1.5 kilometres of passing lanes, the addition of paved shoulders and rumble strips.

The province also plans to reconstruct the pavement to increase the allowable load.

The upgrades to the pavement and shoulders will be constructed on a 15-kilometre stretch.
