ARMSTRONG, B.C. — The City of Armstrong is getting $14.5 million from the Government of British Columbia to upgrade its wastewater infrastructure and integrate its system with the regional north Okanagan system.
In addition, the Regional District of North Okanagan is receiving $9.5 million to expand sewer service to electoral areas that use septic systems, states a news release.
“The North Okanagan Wastewater Recovery Project is a critical initiative that will help protect our environment, promote sustainability and support the economic growth of our communities,” said Kevin Acton, district chair, in the release.
“The funding received from the provincial government is a significant investment in the future of our region.”
The funds come as part of a $450 million investment from B.C. in critical community infrastructure related to drinking water, wastewater and GHG reductions.
