VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has announced Jeannine Martin has been appointed as the new president of the association. It was effective Aug. 8.
“With extensive construction industry knowledge, Martin is well-positioned to elevate member engagement, focusing on meeting and anticipating member priorities while demonstrating industry leadership and advocacy on a regional level,” a VRCA release stated.
Martin has more than 25 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries including as president of the British Columbia Construction Roundtable, vice-president of business development and director of pre-construction at Carlson Construction Group, and positions at COWI, Vancouver Pile Driving and AMEC. She was also on the board of directors for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – British Columbia.
The release stated in her first 100 days with the association Martin would focus on building connections with VRCA members, stakeholders and staff, implementing the VRCA’s strategic plan, working with the British Columbia Construction Association to advance prompt payment legislation and other topline issues including the shortage of skilled trades, and continuing to develop VRCA’s reconciliation action plan.
