Advent Health Care Corp. is seeking rezoning approvals from the City of Toronto for a 137,288-square-meter retirement community at 555 Finch Avenue West in North York.
Makrimichalos Cugini Architects and Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners are working on the conceptual designs.
A master plan for the site was being completed by Urban Strategies but was placed on hold during the approvals process. It will continue once the rezoning approvals are in place.
The 20-acre community is expected to contain ten buildings. Included in the development is a 15,607-square-meter hospital, a 2,973-square-meter medical clinic, a 550-unit seniors apartment, 500 assisted living units, a 174-bed long-term care facility, 1,858-square-meter support services space, 5,574-square-meter wellness centre, recreational space and underground parking.
Stantec Consulting Ltd. will be completing the civil engineering work and MMM Group will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical designs once working drawings begin.
No specific design or construction schedules will be set until approvals are in place. Construction is estimated to cost $142 million.
