REGINA – The City of Regina is marking the halfway point of its construction season with several updates on ongoing projects.
Key infrastructure updates include 2.3 kilometres of watermain replacement in addition to 17.8 kilometres of sewer and 2.5 kilometres of watermain relining.
Approximately 125 lead connections have been replaced so far and crews have used almost 5,000 tons of asphalt for road repairs and pothole patching, a release said.
About 3.5 kilometres of road and 6.5 kilometres of sidewalk repairs plus 45 new pedestrian ramps have been completed under roadway projects.
The next phase of the Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project began on Sept. 3 and will go for the next month. Construction will focus on water and sewer work at the Albert and Dewdney intersection, the release said.
Crews continue to install the watermain along the Ring Road, between Winnipeg and McDonald Street and between Albert and Broad Street, as part of the city’s water network expansion project and the Albert Street North eastbound on-ramp has been reopened.
Work is progressing on sewer upgrades in A.E. Wilson Park, the release said, with McCarthy Boulevard set to reopen in September and the 11th Avenue revitalization project has moved into a new phase with the construction zone moving to the west.
