Selkirk Regional Health Centre Inpatient Building Addition Project

Scope

Demolition, site work and addition to a medical facility in Selkirk, Manitoba. Completed plans call for site work for a medical facility; for the addition of a 25,861-square-foot, one-story above grade, 30-bed medical facility; and for the demolition of a medical facility. The Selkirk Regional Health Centre (SRHC), 120 Easton Drive, Selkirk, Manitoba, is the largest facility within the Interlake East Regional Health Authority (IERHA) and is a regional hub. Completed in June 2017, the new 185,000 square foot facility more than doubled the size of its predecessor, the Selkirk & District General Hospital. The sustainably designed building is LEED Gold certified by the Canadian Green Building Council. The SRHC has 65 beds and provides health care service for Inpatients, Outpatients, Therapy Services, Clinics and Regional Services. As part of Manitoba's Clinical and Preventive Service Plan, SRHC will remain District Enhanced service profile to the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority. The SRHC Inpatient Building Addition Project Scope of Work includes a new 30 bed inpatient addition and minor/medium renovation to the existing Emergency Department. The order of magnitude for construction for this project is approximately $27.96 Million ($27,960,000.00) CAD, exclusive of GST. The construction budget includes the Construction Manager fees for Services and Work. TIMELINE: Ground breaking has occurred. Site work for the addition is underway. Renovations of existing space to proceed fall 2022. The total cost of the project is expected to be approximately $31.6 million.
