Epcor Tower, Edmonton's first new downtown office tower in twenty years, has officially opened.
The 30 storey building, with a height of 148 metres, has a hard construction value of CDN $235 million.
Epcor Tower is targeting LEED Gold certification, with a fresh air intake that slowly warms or cools air before pumping it into the building, resulting in a major reduction in electrical costs.
The structure is the first of four buildings to be built on land previously owned by Canadian National and used as a railroad and converted into the Station Lands, will eventually provide more than 240,000 m² of office, retail, hotel and residential living.
